Affordable Custom | Mid Level | High End | Beyond the Kitchen | Great Storage Ideas
"Functional
Elegance": That is how one
customer described our unique use of cabinet storage to accommodate their every need.
It is important to us that your
cabinetry works as good as it looks. We take time to learn your
storage requirements, and recommend cabinet designs that will meet them.
We developed the storage base
(right)
for one of our first kitchens, and it has been a tremendous success.
Our customers enjoy the easy access, storage capacity and flexibility of
this unit.
When building a cabinet from
scratch, we build the cabinet to perform a needed function right from the
start. The end result puts everything within easy reach, and in an
intuitive place. As with all ideas, it is the end result that is
most important.
Storage Base
This cabinet was developed on one of our very first kitchens, and has been a
staple of our base cabinets ever since. We build these into every kitchen we
design, and they are loved! For this cabinet, we attach the cabinet
door to an 8" bottom drawer. When the drawer is pulled open (no hinges), the
contents of the bottom drawer (the entire width and depth of the cabinet) are
instantly within reach. We utilize the remaining space with two 6" drawers. As
you can see in the photos below, your entire cabinet contents are easily
accessible and organized. Take a close look at these pictures, and you will see
in use both side mount drawer slides and under-mount drawer slides. Both types
work well for this purpose, and it is a budget / preferences decision as to
which we use.

Sink Base Storage
The sink base is often the center of cleaning
supplies for the kitchen. We organize this space by adding drawers. These
drawers, as well as the partition supporting them, are easily removed for
installation of plumbing. As you can see in the fourth photo, this design even
accommodates a garbage disposal.

Pantry Units
The Chef's Pantry is one of most adaptable cabinets we make.
You can store can goods, dry goods, wine, brooms; whatever it is you
require. Each time we build this cabinet the configuration is tailored
to the cook's preference.

Waste & Recycle
The integration of waste and recycle cabinets
keeps your kitchen neat!

Corner Units
When cabinets "turn the corner" in a kitchen, the type of corner cabinet used
depends on several design factors. For upper cabinets, we prefer the "Diagonal Corner". For base cabinets, the choices are "Blind Corner" or "Lazy
Susan" cabinets. As you can see above, the Lazy Susan can be utilized as a
recycling center.

that we purchase for silverware. If you prefer hand
made wooden inserts, we can make those too. Once again, it is a matter of
your
priorities and budget.
